The concept of a baby sling is by no means a new one - many cultures around the world have traditionally used different styles of slings to carry their precious babies (As far back as Ancient Egypt!!)

Modern knowledge has simply improved on these designs to make these slings safer and better for baby and wearer. Experts are now recognising that these traditional baby carrying methods are best. There are many advantages to both baby and carrier of using a baby sling. Here are just a few:

*Slings mimic the natural foetal position in the cradle position.

*A babies developing spine is supported unlike upright styles of carriers.

*Babies carried in slings are comforted by being close to their carrier and therefore cry less and learn more.

*Having her hands free, a mother is able to perform daily chores and look after other children. Sorry, no more excuses about not getting the housework done!

*The upright position used correctly can help babies with reflux.

*Breastfeeding in public is easy and discreet.

*The same carrier can be used for newborns (even premmies!) up to 2 or 3 years old. We recommend a maximum weight of 16kg.

*Using public transport is easier than with a cumbersome pram

*Shopping is much easier - no need to struggle around crowded aisles or racks with a pram or look for the elusive shopping trolley with a capsule.

*If you have 2 children close together, the older one can ride in a single pram whilst you carry the baby in a sling. Much better than a twin or tandem pram!
